I need to confess something to you. When Pinterest first started, I thought it was pointless and I refused to join. I figured I didn’t want another online account, and my tangle of browser bookmarks was working just fine.

Obviously, I eventually broke down and created an account, and now I love it. I used it a ton when planning our wedding, and it was really great to be able to easily share pictures with George. It’s been fun for me to revisit our wedding pin board and see how inspiration images were transformed and customized in our own wedding. Here are some of my favorite examples.

You would really not believe the number of DIY projects we did for the wedding. Most of the crafting fell on my lap, but dear George tried to help where he could. And he was completely responsible for the giant Love letters we had out for our ceremony. In the end, this project almost got scratched from the list, but I’m really glad we worked on them.

This project definitely took a while, but each step is relatively straightforward.

The wealth of wedding inspiration online made me a little nuts over DIY projects for my wedding. I was inspired to make two different embroideries for the big day. One was for George’s suit and it read “I got married in this suit” and had the wedding date. The other was an embroidered ribbon wrap for my bridal bouquet.

Hand painted Wedding Signage - white on wood for classing up a rustic wedding

I spent a great deal of time considering the look and feel for our wedding. Since it was held at an apple orchard, with the reception inside a barn, it was relaxed and a bit rustic. Even though it was a barn wedding, I wanted to dodge the Mason jar and burlap trends and tried to incorporate some polished details. One of those details was stained wood and hand painted wooden signs throughout the wedding.
