Visiting Vienna

Karlsplatz Station -- Art Decor Exterior

Last week I shared some details on our trip to Budapest. Well, we also visited Vienna, Austria! Here are some tidbits from that portion of the trip.

Why Austria and Hungary?
People keep asking us why we chose to visit Vienna and Budapest. The honest answer is just that I saw awesome photos of Vienna and was completely drawn in. We love to travel and have a long list of future destinations, but I guess beautiful pictures clinch the deal. Since we were already going to be in Europe for Austria, we added on an extra stop of Budapest. Why not?

So many museums
If you like visiting museums, Vienna is the place for you. You could spend weeks going to see art, natural history, Austrian history, Jewish culture, military history, and so much more.

Eastern Caribbean Cruise: Port Days

Eastern Caribbean Cruise -- Recap of Port Days on Celebrity Equinox

Hi gang! I just got back from an awesome 10-night cruise in the Eastern Caribbean. It was a super generous gift from my parents, and my whole family was there. I wanted to share some of my photos, along with notes about what we did on each port day. Later next week I’ll spill on what it was like on board the boat, the Celebrity Equinox. I haven’t been on a cruise in many years, and I believe it was my first time at all of these stops!

St Thomas
Our first stop was St. Thomas, and I ventured off with my parents and older brother to see Coral World. It’s an aquarium with other non-aquatic animals, like lorikeets that you can feed. My little niece loved all of the animals, and it we all had a particularly good time with the birds and in an underwater viewing room where you can see all the tropical fish in the wild. Later we went next door to Coki Beach, which was a bit busy, but a very nice place to swim and snorkel for a little while.

Flower Crown Redemption

Flower Crown with white dress in high grass

I had planned to wear a flower crown at my wedding. Honestly, I knew it would look goofy in photos 20 years from now, but I wanted to have flowers adorning my head for the reception. So I gave my florist instructions, measured my head, and she delivered a flower crown to the wedding venue. But, the thing is, I did not wear a flower crown at any point on my wedding day.

I’m going to level with you. I completely forgot about it. At the end of the day, I thought everything went swimmingly. It wasn’t until a week later when I noticed my florist’s photo of a flower crown, MY FLOWER CROWN, when I was devastated. And, the weirdest thing is, no one has any idea what happened to it or where it ended up. George can’t remember where he put it, and the packaging the crown was in never turned up at the venue. It was stored with beautiful boutonnieres for the mothers, which also didn’t get used. Ugh.

Visiting Rome in July

Roman Colosseum and george / A Rome vacation recap

Rome was the last stop of our Italian honeymoon, and it was also the longest amount of time we spent in one destination. It was certainly a busy city, and I think the crowds of tourists and the hectic nature made it a little less fun. However, the city was filled with amazing pieces of history and loads of delicious food.
