Valentine’s Day Gift of Time Together

The gift of date nights out -- a DIY Valentine's Day book that gives the gift of time

You would think that having a blog would make me prepare for holidays in advance, but apparently that isn’t the case. I just finished George’s Valentine’s Day present, and I figured I would share it with you, in case you need a last minute idea.

Since we’re just past Christmas, and George has a birthday coming up, I shied away from buying another physical item. We have too much stuff already, and I really just want to spend more time together doing fun things. We love to go out to eat, but it can become expensive very quickly (which is not so great for our budget!). I decided that for this Valentine’s Day I would give the gift of time together in the form of date nights out at restaurants.

I Love You Every Day Book

I love you every day -- A DIY book

Today’s project was actually something that I made a couple years ago, but I think I was afraid to share it because it is super-lovey, bordering on the creepy territory. Regardless, it’s a great handmade gift for Valentine’s Day, and I’ll stand by my work.

This DIY book is a simple, but impactful, way to show that your love is there every single day.

Basically, I just wrote out “I love you” for every single day of the year.

You would really not believe the number of DIY projects we did for the wedding. Most of the crafting fell on my lap, but dear George tried to help where he could. And he was completely responsible for the giant Love letters we had out for our ceremony. In the end, this project almost got scratched from the list, but I’m really glad we worked on them.

This project definitely took a while, but each step is relatively straightforward.

Saving all those Wedding Memories

Saving wedding memories in a storage box - what to keep and what to discard

Welcome to the second installment of Wedding Wednesdays, where I share all the DIYs and details about our June wedding. Last week I talked about the things you actually should do the week before your wedding. I’m waiting on professional photos, so this week I’ll talk about preserving wedding mementos.

Now that we’re back from our honeymoon and are getting back into the swing of things, it’s time to sort through all our DIY wedding elements, gifts, and little mementos. Both George and I are sentimental, so we’d love to keep so many pieces of our wedding to hold onto the memories and good feelings. But right now our apartment is overrun, so we’ve had no choice but to pare things down.
