I Love You Every Day Book

I love you every day -- A DIY book

Today’s project was actually something that I made a couple years ago, but I think I was afraid to share it because it is super-lovey, bordering on the creepy territory. Regardless, it’s a great handmade gift for Valentine’s Day, and I’ll stand by my work.

I love you every day -- A DIY book

This DIY book is a simple, but impactful, way to show that your love is there every single day.

Basically, I just wrote out “I love you” for every single day of the year.

Recently I was shopping for my holiday gift-wrap, which is honestly one of my Christmas season highlights. I have the habit of filling up my online shopping cart to the brim, and then later paring it down to be a more manageable price. Some things I feel are totally worth the cost, like glossy satin ribbon. Other things just don’t make the cut.

Dried Bouquet Ornaments-- perfect for dried wedding flowers

After planning a wedding, particularly a DIY-heavy wedding, you have so many items and keepsakes left over. I tried my best to get rid of things ASAP, but I still have a bunch of items left to sell, donate, or keep.

Dried wedding bouquet -- what to do with it?

Immediately after the wedding, I hung my bouquet upside-down to dry out. I didn’t really have any concrete plans, but I just decided to give myself the option to keep my wedding flowers. Although pretty, I didn’t feel like putting the dried flowers into a shadow box, since it’s not really my style. Instead, I’ve decided to create Christmas ornaments that I can enjoy every year in December.

‘Give Thanks’ Place Cards for Thanksgiving

Leaf place cards for Thanksgiving -- with printable

I enjoy Thanksgiving as a time to reflect and be grateful for all that I have in my life.

Growing up we had a tradition where before dinner was officially started, we would go around the table to say “what we were thankful for.”

I’ll never forget the year that one of my brothers refused to answer the question. He was sent down to his room until he could think of something to be grateful for. When he finally reemerged, he said he was thankful for his Nintendo. Ha!

This time of year I always think back onto Thanksgivings past and I start imagining this year’s dinner and celebration. With all of my warm—and funny—memories dancing in my head, I created leaf place cards for the Thanksgiving table.

Easy DIY Scuba Diver Costume

DIY Scuba Diver Costume with instructions

I really love dressing up for Halloween, but I hate spending a lot of money on it. I also try to avoid any costumes that could be offensive, and prefer to stick to famous characters or professions. With that in mind, this year I decided to make my own scuba diver costume for Halloween!

The project is pretty easy and only cost me $11 out of pocket for two adult costumes.
