About The Thrifty Ginger

Welcome to The Thrifty Ginger!
I’m Lauren, and I’m so glad you stopped by.

HISTORYLauren, The Thrifty Ginger with wine flight
When I started this blog in the fall of 2012, I was living by myself, working for a non-profit, and had to be really careful with my money. I kept feeling bad about all of the things I couldn’t do, which was ridiculous. In actuality I was very lucky, and could do so many interesting things. The Thrifty Ginger was born as a place to celebrate living well on less.

Now my situation has changed a bit, as I recently took the plunge to become a full-time freelance writer. In addition to my work on The Thrifty Ginger, I’m doing some writing for a local blog, DIY wedding blogging, and any other projects I can get my hands on. I have a very supportive husband who works in the technology industry. We are certainly living well, but it’s still a challenge to save money where we can in order to achieve everything we want.

I’m a 20-something Rhode Islander living in Upstate New York. I love the beach, sunny days, white wine, and Kate Spade. I’ve been a vegetarian since elementary school and have never dyed my red hair any other hue. I’m terrible at languages, but I love to travel and will take any opportunity I get to see some place new. While I’m a fairly type-A planner type, I’m trying to be as cool and relaxed as my husband, George. Yoga is helping with that.

AFFILIATE LINKS AND SPONSORS
I occasionally have links on my blog that will generate revenue for me if you click through and/or if you make a purchase on the business’ site. I really appreciate it if you use those links because it helps pay for all of the hours I spend generating content for this site! However, I still provide links to websites that aren’t paying me, and you’re certainly welcome to Google my affiliate links separately. Any other brands I mention are just my personal favorites, unless a sponsor is explicitly mentioned.
