We bought a house!

I cannot believe I’m saying this, but we finally closed on the house. We are homeowners!

Anyone who has been following along, or who has seen me in real life over the last few months knows what a long and stressful process this has been. There have been many times since having our house offer accepted in November that I didn’t think things would actually work out. I won’t go into all of the gory details, but buying a first home in this day and age is not for the faint of heart. The good news is that we survived the marathon.

We’ve been living in the house for a couple weeks now, but we’re still not settled. While we love the neat details and historic style of the house, it needs quite a bit of love. That’s to be expected with a building that’s 120+ years old. Anyway, I won’t editorialize anymore; here are some photos of the place, just before we moved in.

This will be a combo living/dining area. I called it a "Great Room" one time, and George and I both agreed that's way too pretentious for us.

Over the next few many months, I’ll be sharing some of our house projects and updates. It’s exciting and scary all at once!
